What is the difference between wood and composite/PVC decking?2020-02-25T01:21:24+00:00

Wood decking can make for a beautifully finished deck at a lower price point. However, our climate is hard on exposed wood and upkeep, such as sanding and staining, is required to keep your deck looking great for the duration of its life. Whereas composite and PVC decking requires minimal upkeep aside from spring cleaning and will remain in new condition for the duration of its life.

Do I need to get helical piles, screw piles, concrete piles, or what does my new deck sit on?2020-02-25T01:22:56+00:00

Every component of your new deck is important to the overall construction, and the footings are no exception. All of our deck projects meet and/or exceed local building codes and whichever pile type is required to support the load of the deck is what we will recommend and use. That being said, all communities or areas have differing soil/ground conditions, and in some areas, helical or screw piles are recommended as they can bore deeper underground, further below unstable earth, or deep frost lines, and eliminate any heaving or movement, as opposed to our standard 48” deep concrete piles.

Will you demolish my old fence/deck and haul it away?2020-02-25T01:23:43+00:00

Absolutely.  Included in our demo fee is complete removal and disposal of existing structures and all applicable dump fees.

What sort of accessories can you add to my deck?2020-02-25T01:25:13+00:00

Popular add-ons to include pergolas, covered roofs, wood or glass privacy walls, aluminum screens, and gates, skirting and claddings, gazebos, benches, lighting systems, under deck storage options, multi-level construction, post/pillar build-outs and claddings, and decking inlays. Let us help you design something functional for your personal needs!

How can I get the ball rolling and get a quote?2020-02-25T01:31:10+00:00

All it takes is a phone call, a website request, or an email to get you started. We will get back to you right away to set up an appointment with one of our experts and get you your free estimate as soon as we can. As every project is different, we do not offer “ballpark quotes” over the phone or email, and a site visit is required for all projects. From there, all you need to do is sit back, relax and let us transform your yard into a dream outdoor living space.

What types of railings are available?2023-01-30T23:01:50+00:00

Our philosophy has always been to lean towards low/zero maintenance railing systems. Wooden railings can be incredibly difficult and time consuming to sand and stain season after season. Therefore, our best selling railing systems continue to be a powder-coated, welded aluminum railing, with pickets or glass inserts, as well as local Alberta manufactured Hideaway privacy screens. Low maintenance, safe and beautiful, year after year.

We offer an industry-leading lifetime warranty on workmanship for all of our deck projects. Furthermore, our Platinum Pro Contractor status with Trex decking allows us to pass along an additional 7-year labour warranty on all composite decks on top of the amazing 25-year Trex product warranty.

I have a walkout basement, and would like a high deck, but would like access to the yard, and want the underside to be waterproof. Is this a possibility?2023-01-30T22:59:57+00:00

Of course! Let us design a custom-built aluminum spiral staircase or any combination of composite or wooden custom stairs and landings to get you down to your yard. As for waterproofing, we specialize in walkout decks that are sheathed and covered in 68mm thick DekSmart vinyl that is available in many colors and patterns and with industry-leading warranties. We also specialize in installing the Trex Rainescape drainage system, allowing you to have a waterproof composite walkout deck. If you want to extend your living space underneath your deck, we have you covered!
